Ice Out of Boat Ramps in Salmon area–3 March 2014

Ice has been removed from the Bobcat Gulch and North Fork ramp. The 4th July take-out is not a developed ramp, and does not get cleaned, but a person could drag a boat out there with a long rope and then load it. So–the river is ice-free and available down to North Fork. The ice jam at Deadwater was only a few hundred yards long Sunday afternoon, so I expect it to break out completely this week. There was slush ice yesterday morning (Sunday) but it went away in the afternoon. This morning was warmer, about 30 degrees, and there was no ice. The river was clear. It’s time for steelhead fishing in the Salmon area.
