Early summer, and the river is up!
It’s late spring/early summer, and the river is muddy and rising. We’ve taken several jaunts down the river road toward Corn Creek and are getting EXCITED to get on the river soon!
We took our 2 1/2 year old son down to watch some boats and kayaks navigate the Pine Creek Section of the Salmon River over the Memorial Day weekend. He must have whitewater in his blood, because that was the high point of his day. The kayakers were good sports and loved our son’s cheers and hand clapping. We’re looking forward to getting him out on a trip of his own soon.
This is a beautiful time to be on the Salmon River. The hillsides are green and covered with many different wildflowers. It’s not so hot yet, usually just right, with temperatures in the mid-to-high seventies.
